The bands all played wonderfully, but for me the highlight of the night came much later when I read a Facebook posting by a young lady named Millie. She was attending the show by herself (apparently a personal first) and doing so was more than just going to a show for her. I was touched by her post's honesty, and emotion. While user experience is always my primary concern for events at my place I honestly do not spend much time thinking about an individual person's experience. I saw this young lady smiling and taking pictures without once wondering what was going through her mind.
I am reprinting her post here (with her permission of course) in the hopes that everyone who plays, wants to play or comes to the show at our place will get what I got from the posting and keep in mind that there is probably a Millie at every show and that the best way to help build a strong music community is to be an ambassador to the scene like the people at this show were. There is probably a Millie (or an Anna or a Melissa or Becky or whoever) at every show, and I am grateful to Millie for reminding me.
