Back when SLG and Boutiki owner Dan Vado opened his first comic book store (just after running water, but before anyone even knew what the Internet was) his store, then called Space Station II had a saver service. Back then the process was not computerized, there was no monthly Previews catalog and nobody knew what was going to be in what comic book. As we entered 2010 and it became apparent that this was going to be a year of getting back to our roots, the Boutiki is now going to be offering a comics saver service. As we have a highly efficient mail order department we will be making this process available to anyone who would like us to save new comics or graphic novels for them.
Here are some details:
How does the Pull List system work?
Simply go to http://www.comixology.com, create an a Comixology account (it's free), select us as your retailer (you can go straight to our listing page by clicking here), and then browse through the comics listings pulling your comics and series. Once you register us as your store all of your requests will come to us. We will follow up via email to make sure your orders are valid. A link to the months catalog is at the top left-hand corner of the Comixology website.
How many titles do I have to subscribe to?
We have no minimums; subscribe to whatever you like. Subscribing to a title is a commitment to buy however, so we will ask you to reconfirm what you want every month. You must pick up your entire order within one month of each items release or we will restock the items to our shelves. Should we have to do this often, SLG will unilaterally cancel your account.
Is there a discount?
As a subscriber you will receive one of our membership cards entitling you to a 10% discount on anything in our store (with the exception of original arts or prints) which will also apply to your preorders. You will also get a free copy of Diamond Previews Magazine.
Do you ask for credit card information?
No. At this time, we do not require a credit card on file unless you are asking for your books and comic to be shipped (we do mail order and can easily transition this system to ship your comics to your door). We do, however, require non-refundable deposits on special-order merchandise, so don't be shocked if we ask for some up front dough when you order that very $200 limited edition statue.
What do I do when I want to cancel my reserve box?
Please tell us. SLG will expect you to buy anything you have ordered, regardless of when it comes in. On cancellation we will figure out what you have on order so you can know what to expect cost-wise.
